Building your own home in the Philippines is a dream for many.

Everyone has a certain perception and vision for what his house must look and feel like.

But designing a home takes a lot more than just owning a piece of land and then let the contractor do the rest…

After all; it’s YOU who’s going to live between those walls.

The next home design tips will help you to lay the right foundation for your future home.

1) ARCHITECTURAL STYLES
Which ‘general direction’ do you want to go with the ‘architectural style’?
Do you want a bungalow style, a mediterranean or maybe a luxury design? Or a mix?
Here’s a nice website to start:

2) PUT SOMETHING ON PAPER
Draw your dreamhouse, even if it’s a simple sketch, just to show to your architect.
It can only take a pencil and a piece of paper. Sketch your ideas. Brainstorm.
Think about the future; will you have kids or (grand-) parents living with you.
Where will be the front of your home, how many windows; light is very important, whether from the sun or electric light.
Don’t put a bedroom near a noisy space.

3) HOW MUCH CAN YOU SPEND?
From that amount, deduct at least 10% to accommodate for any unforeseen expenditures.

…here are a few of our previous buildings…
